Today, I accompanied my mother and my sister to Wisma Mendaki for some financial clarification. Then, we went ahead to Geylang Serai since my mum wanted to buy things there. After doing some roundings, I asked my mum to bought Satay because we've not been eating Satay for such a long time. I really really have been wanting to eat Satay but there's always no opportunity for me. Well, I guess I'm quite lucky today. Hehe. :)
While we were waiting for the stall holder to approach us, there's this one lady came right up to my mum and said "San shi shenme?" My mum went like "HUH?!?!?" I knew she asked" The no.3 is what?" and at the same time she also pointed to the menu. The no.3 shows Lontong Sayor. The lady must have thought that my mum is a Chinese Muslim since she simply assumed my mum understands Chinese. Hahaha. I laughed at my mum when I saw her reaction. I tried to help the Chinese lady. Even though I understood her meaning, I still cant put the right words to explain to her. At that particular time,in my mind, there's only fan=rice and cai=vegetable. I felt very irritated because I did'nt manage to helped her out. The lady finally just shook her head and went off.
Before this, I used to have a dream about this one guy asking me for directions in Chinese and I answered him back very slowly upon searching for the correct Chinese words. And in that dream, I wonder why of all people there, he went to ask me for directions even though there's alot of Chinese people walking surrounding him. I still can remember that dream. I dont know why. I also wonder why I have had such dream. ^_^
I've asked Esther before of why should I learn Chinese. And she replied that because Singapore is a racial country. So its better to learn Malay or Chinese. It's not necessary to learn Tamil though. Haha. The reason is because Indian is a minority. I felt so sorry for the Indians. But i think Malay is also a minority in Singapore. Hehe. Whatever it is that's simply what Esther had said to me eh.
Actually, all this while I have been pondering why am I learning Chinese? Korean and Japanese are much more easier to learn. Well, at least there's no Hanyu Pinyin. But, I knew deep in my heart I wanted to learn Chinese until I am able to read and speak good Mandarin. 0_0
Btw, I am now looking forward to going out with Esther and Aileen. And Hsiu Fen too, if possible. At anytime, please let me know if you want to go 'gaigai' or play pool or whatever. I miss Aileen. Long time never meet her. Hehe.
Jal ga.
