running away

i am so sorry esther chin chong fan.
i forgot that i still have a loyal n0n-malay reader.

especially for you,

here's a story.

before i went out tonight
my younger sister had asked me to buy her
a melon vitasoy and a bottle of apple tea.

it was around 10pm and it was drizzling.
i was walking my way home from the 'mamak' shop.

i saw a cat.
its nearby the lift.
so, i told myself
"relax fatimah, i will just pass by the cat"

normally, if i saw a cat from far.
i will choose not to take the nearest lift.
i will go over to the other lift further away to reach home.

but tonight, i didnt.
and i made a mistake.

trying to be brave,
and trying not to be scared,
i walked towards the lift.

i planned not to look at the cat.
but i failed.
i had turn my head and take a look at what the cat is doing.

and i saw the cat is coming towards me.

that instant moment,
i could no longer act cool.
knowing that the cat is going towards me.
i cant think straight. i panicked.
i was so scared that i ran away from the lift
and wanted to run away from the cat.

and of course, the cat,
seeing me running away
it started to chase me.

whats more?

i was too scared.
and thinking that the cat wants the soya milk i was holding
i threw away the plastic bag filled with my sister's drink
and i threw it to the cat.

i thought that by giving away the milk
the cat would stop chasing after me

but i was wrong,
the cat only temporarily looked into the plastic bag
and it then continues to chase me

i was like,
"HUH???
you dont want milk?
what else do you want?
DONT CHASE ME.
PLEASE, DONT CHASE ME!"

but the cat keep running
and i keep running too.

so i ran and ran and ran.
and i bumped into a malay neighbor's son.
he saw me running,
and i wanted to seek help from him.

FORTUNATELY, i didnt.
FORTUNATELY, i was still abit rational.

imagine..
how should have i seek help from him?
by saying..
"HELP! HELP!
theres a cat chasing after me."

omg, that would be so embarassing.

so what did i do?
and what did i learn for the night?

i learnt that at the most fearful moment of my life,
i should just run.
run as fast as possible.
and dont look back.
if i see a staircase, thats better.
if i see a big road, thats even better.

when everything is clear,
when the cat is no longer to be seen,

call my home. =D

moral of the story:
the more you try to be brave,
the more the cat wants to get near you.

i dun understand why people like cats.
they just know how to act cute.
and they chase after people.
